Life with Phillip has been fun and laughs through all the trials and tribulations of this recovery. When I am about to get discouraged and give up, we always find something new to laugh about.
One of our new things has to do with this Sears Optical Sale Commercial I have been seeing on HLN each night. I commented to Phillip they had a sale going on for two pairs of glasses for $99, and I thought I might need to get some new glasses. Well, that was all I needed to say. Phillip has “taken the ball and run with it” as the old expression says. After investigating, I found out this was only for single vision lenses (I wear old ladies’ progressive lenses). But Phillip kept wanting to take me to get my eyes checked and purchase those new glasses.
I finally had to start teasing him about this Sears Commercial I had been seeing. I hope everyone has seen it — it is just so unique and cute. It is so nice to laugh and enjoy a very quiet commercial with a cute animal in it, which does not YELL at you. Don’t you just hate those loud commercials. In this commercial, a lady in her housecoat ready for bed goes to the door to call in her kitty. You hear her calling, “Here kitty, kitty.” Next you see this big, healthy raccoon coming in the house and going with her. Without her glasses, she thinks he is the kitty and tells him it is time to snuggle. Needless to say, the raccoon looks very happy with the situation.
So I have been telling Phillip he is afraid I will be bringing a raccoon in to go “snuggle” in bed some night instead of the dogs after their late night potty break. He just laughs at me. Relax though everyone — my eyes are not that bad. After two cataract surgeries a few years ago and corrective lenses implanted at the time, I have pretty good distance vision — just need my glasses for up close and computer work.
I’m sure my little bossy woman Sophie would have any old raccoon high-tailing it out of there. She is really a little wildcat when it comes to her territory in the bed. Speaking of which, it is time to go snuggle with my gals and say goodnight! Sophie is sitting here staring at me waiting for her elevator ride into the bed. Did I hear someone mention steps — Sophie would not hear of steps. It is more fun to have mommy give elevator rides all night long.
